All passwords in windows 98 dont work!

Ok I was messing around with this program called Cain password retrieval and after that all the passwords in windows are stuffed up when i create a new account in outlook express i create a new password and then try to use that account but the password doesnt work, and it also screwed up the user logon at the start of windows im not going to go into how i kept the setting for the profiles but ill tell you i tried re-installing win98, anyway any idea on what this could be thanks

Have you uninstalled this software?  It could still be active and messing around with things.
If you want to delete all login passwords in 98 you can do a Start-Find-Fioles or Folders and search for *.pwl.  Delete everything it finds and you login passwords are now gone.

GGow never returned the the site after the day of asking the question.  It seems likely that slink9's comment solved the problem, so will award the question.
