how to send a parameter

how to send a parameter (strid) using a hyper link
..here what i've used..but it's not working
<a href="delete_1.jsp"?strid> Delete </a>


and how to read this strid in the delete_1.jsp page..
shall i do it like this
String str=request.getParemeter("strid");

but it's still not working

You jus got confused in the formation of YURL
Instead of
<a href="delete_1.jsp"?strid> Delete </a>
 use
<a href="delete_1.jsp?strid=10">Delete </a>
and if you have nmore than one params
<a href="delete_1.jsp?strid=10&name=peter">Delete </a>
and you will get the same on doing
request.getParameter("strid");
and
request.getParameter("name");
