I have developed a program For Production status monitoring. This require to print barcode using a Zebra S600 Printer. The Printer commands is from Zebra Programming Language (ZPL)which is specific to the printer.I tried it by three methods
1. Open "Lpt1:" for output as #1
print #1, the command string formatted in ZPL
   Close #1
2. By installing the generic/text printer driver and then using the vb print object
3. Installing the zebra printer driver and then using the Vb print object
The first two worked fine. But then if the the printer is off line or out of label i could not detect it through the program. I update the DB2 database in AS400 after completing the task. So if there is an error and the labels are not properly printed there is no way to stop updating the DB2.Can someone help me.
