OSA.EXE - Application Error

System info: Windows 2k sp3, Microsoft Office 97 Pro

System was configured as local admim.
When logging on as a domain user the following message appears. I think that it Sounds like permissions or a local policy problem ?

Error Message: The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000022). Click ok to terminate the application

You can disable this in the startup.

Download the Startup COP a free pcmag utility from
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,2097,00.asp
 Run it and it will show you everything that is listed in all the possible startup
places, and allow you to disable things one at a time until the problem is eliminated.

Thanks for the utility.
There are two items in the startup folder, Office startup
(Priority 6 - All Users) & Office shortcut bar (priority 7 Current user only)

office startup is causing the problem. After I click ok to the origional error message, clicking on any office app produces the same error message. If I remove office startup from the statup folder I get the same error message when clicking on word, excel,

What is OSA.EXE ?

1) This is for XP but the same applies for all versions...

2) I guess you dont have admin access to the local machine after you log onto your domain... Log on locally (Local Machine) and Right Click My Computer > Click Manage > Find the Admin Group and Add the user from the domain that you use to log onto that machine with.

Log off and re-logon with the domain account.
