Norton Integrator error

Wayne-R used Ask the Experts™
I have a "Norton Integrator could not initialize the current frame class;please make sure that you did not directly run the integrator" error when I try running NAV on a system I have been working on. I have tried Nortons solution which is to uninstall norton manually, removing the registry entries as will as anything related to norton. After I re-install nortons, I still recieve the same error. I am hoping to avoid a total re-install of the os(Win98). Any ideas would be much appreciated. It is NAV 2002. Thanks.

Ah, I know exactly what causes that!

That error is caused when Norton cannot find the file that starts the Antivirus. Possibly the folder name is not the same name as when you installed it. E.g. I would get that error if I change the folder name Norton Antivirus to Noertan Antyviros. It cannot find the executable file (which possibly has an NSI extension), and then it throws up that error. I have had it with Norton Internet Security.

It is odd, because you say you have manually uninstalled, but did you remove all the folders too? Make sure that you don't change the folder name, that's all. Try re-installing and using the default folder name, and don't change it, and see if that works.

In conclusion, the problem is that the program can't match the shortcut and the file. Maybe try making a new shortcut to the NSI file and see if that works.
