For JDettman - Unique Table Error

Hello Jim,
Thanks for getting back to me.

I am using Access 2002 for my front end DB and SQL server 2000 for back end. I have DAPs created for which I'm trying to edit, update and delete data from the web. I have all connections done and everything seems to work fine, I can see the data and everything too, But only that I can't edit it using my update and delete buttons. I also have the recordset property set to updateable.

When I try to do this it gives me this error "Unique Table is nonexistent or not completely specified." My tables are not really linked to each other, they're all on their own in the DB.
Any help?
Thanks.

It sounds like Access cannot uniquley identify the records, although that is a bit of a shot in the dark.  I have no direct experience with this nor does the MSKB have anything on it.

Given that, I'd check:

1. Each row in the resulting view is uniqely identified.
2. There are no duplicate rows in the table(s) involved.

As to #2, there have been several bugs with SQL server that allow duplicate rows to be entered durning a Bluck copy or DTS operation.

Just had the same problem. It was on the form properties (data).
The field "Unique table" was different from record source, when changed it worked.
