Serial cable configuration to connect to a 3com switch

I need to connect to a 3com switch (3500 Core Builder) in order to manage it.  I need to do this via the serial port (terminal)  I think that the problem is the configuaration of the serial cable I'm using.  The cable I'm using came with a NewLink switch, and with that switch it works OK.  However we have not been able to use that cable, or other misc cable we have lying around to get to the Core Builder, or any other of the 3Com switches we have working. Baud rate, parity, etc. seems to be properly configured.

Anyone have the pinout diagram for such a cable?

Thanks in advance.

It should either be  a 3 wire straight through, or a Null modem cable.

I hope this helps !

A friend already gave me the sugestion to use a null modem.  I'll try it, and if it works I'll give you the points anyway.  Thanks a lot for helping !!
