Anyone know a simple way to network my Mac (OS X.2) to my Windows 2000 PC with just a crossover cable or maybe just a regular eithernet cable? I really don't want to have to buy a hub or install any additional softward if I can get away with not doig so.

Thanks!

You cant do it without a crossover cable. Dunno why you wouldnt want a hub though, you can get them for $18.

Just connect the two with the crosover cable, share something on the windows box. Then read http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106471
Simple crossover cable should do, but if you can get a hub, go for it. Sooner or later you will connect a third machine, and then you need the hub anyway - with straight cables, so the crossover cable is wasted money.

Are you only trying to connect to the windows box or are you trying to do more (ie: share an internet connection or files)?
