- Boot up in Win98
- Open a CMD Prompt and type: fdisk/mbr
Now you can't load Win2000 anymore, but you can remove the Win2000 partition and still be able to load Win98
- Use fdisk or PartitionMagic or any other program that will do the job, to remove the Win2000 partition
Note: Win98 can't access NTFS partitions

Just a quick question: are both operating systems installed on the same partition?
Booting in the operating systems and seeing each OS inatslled on C:\ doesn't mean they are on the same partition. It's very easy to change drive letter designations.

Basically, partitioning a harddrive is like cutting a cake, you divide it in a number of 'slices'.
And operating systems are like people sitting around the cake. One person can think of a particular slice as 'slice 1', while the person next to him thinks of that same slice as 'slice 3'. So different operating systems can have a different 'opinion' of which slice of the harddrive they refer to as partition C:\.
---------------
What you need to do know, is to find out if both operating systems are in fact installed on seperate partitions. I think the best way to accomplish that is to boot in Windows 2000, and find out where the folders 'WinNT' and 'Windows' reside. The 'WinNT' folder contains Windows 2000 and the 'Windows' folder contains Windows 98. Note that both folders mentioned are located in the root of the drive, i.e. they can't be subfolders of other folders.
You have to do it in Windows 2000, because Windows 2000 can see everything from Windows 98, but not vice versa.

thanks of all
Be careful, you will lose everything on your Win2000 partition.
