Hi there,

put the custom tag in ur CFusion/CustomTags directory

call the tag using the tag name ie <CF_filename & pass the required parameters as described in the readme file supplied along with the TAG.

incase its a CFX tag then u need to register it with the CFADMIN ...

but otherwise things r fine !

Oddly enough, that is what the instructions indicated that came with the tag.

However, it's still not ringing a bell.

Local directory structure is as follows;
c:\program files\allaire\coldfusion studio 4.5\extensions

or

c:\program files\allaire\coldfusion studio 4.5\Parsers

or

c:\program files\allaire\coldfusion studio 4.5\userdata

or

c:\program files\allaire\coldfusion studio 4.5\verity

or

c:\program files\allaire\coldfusion studio 4.5\wizards

each having their own subdirs.  There is a subdir under extensions named, TagDefs but that is the only one with a name containing "tag".

I don't want to seem too much like a bonehead but...
I copied the tag file to the customtag directory located under EXTENSIONS.  When I opened a new page and inserted a tag then looked at the list of tags available under CUSTOM, I did not see the one that I added.

Help!

What do you want to do ?

- Edit the custom tag into CF Studio like right click on the tag
- Or "simply" use a custom tag ?

"Simply" use a custom tag.

I've somewhat given up on the idea but the points are still there to be gotten.
Commented:
You should have a directory like C:\CFusion/Custom tags where you must copy your Custom tag. It's the CF Server and NOT the CF Studio (cfr the directories you listed)

You can also copy the custom tag in your application and call it with <cfmodule> via relative path. With this method you are more administration free

Hope i helped

...like a bright light.

Huh.  CF Server and not Studio...didn't even think about that.

You got the points.

Thanks.

Sorry for the delay.
