Boot Win98.  From a DOS prompt, type:

fdisk /mbr

This will over-write your MBR (Master Boot Record) with the default Windows MBR entry, wiping out LILO from the MBR.

You can now use either fdisk or something nicer like Partition Magic to recover the space used by the Linux partition.  fdisk will allow you to make a new second DOS partition for Win98, which you can use as a D: drive if you like.  Partition Magic will let you pull the two partitions together into one big parition.

Don't forget to mark the windows partition as the active partition in any fdisk.

A split sounds fair to me, thanks.
