PocketPC 2002 pvbDecl.dll not found

Hello,

I installed Microsoft eMbedded Visual Tools 3.0 and
Microsoft Windows SDK for Pocket PC 2002 on Windows XP Pro.

I try to execute a sample application using eMbedded Visual Basic 3.0 on target "Pocket PC 2002 Emulation".

I get the following error: "Cannot find extension file pvbDecl.dll. Please run setup to restore this file".

If I run "Windows CE Remote File Viewer" I don't find the file pvbDecl.dll anywhere on the "Pocket PC 2002 Emulation" device.

Please HELP!!!

Hi,

This file will be in your local PC. You can find the file "MS Pocket PC\\Runtimes\\pvbdecl.dll" from Wince folder. If you not find, pls reinstall PocketPC emulator and try again.

When you try to execute exe from EVB, it will automatically register all the correponding DLLs which is required to execute the exe. Pls check this also. If not surely u hv to get reinstall.

Yes, the file is on my local PC. When I start running the EXE file, the Remote Connection is established and I can see:

"Copying TCPIPC.DLL"
"Copying CEMGRC.DLL"

(which I don't think is really copying the files, since this is an emulation device, but I may be wrong)

The pvbdecl.dll is registered on my local PC.

I already re-installed.

Any idea?

Yes. It is not really copying this dlls, just registering this dlls to pocket PC.
R u getting this error message when you are running the appplication from EVB tools.
If it is, let me know what sample program have you tried?

Pls can you some other sample and let me know...

Yes, I get this error msg when running the app from EVB tools.

I try to run the program "Registry".
The path to the Registry project file is:
C:\Windows CE Tools\wce300\Pocket PC 2002\samples\evb\Registry.

Hi ,

I have tried samething in My PC. But i am getting no error message as you said. So ple try to reinstall evb tools and Pocket PC 2002.
Otherwise check this dll is in "C:\Windows CE Tools\wce300\Pocket PC 2002\runtimes\x86".

Hi,

I uninstalled/re-installed evb tools and Pocket PC 2002.
Same problem.
The .dll is located in "C:\Windows CE Tools\wce300\Pocket PC 2002\runtimes\x86".

I am using the files downloaded from Microsoft web site.

hi,
Pocket pc emulator is not working for me when i used listview or grid contol on a form. the same error "Cannot find extension file pvbDecl.dll. Please run setup to restore this file" is coming. How do i resolve this error. it is working fine on the device. Could any of u please help me?
