Shared doesn't really mean what you think it means.

What your users need to do, is go into your database, do "view - Agents" select the agent and use edit copy.  Then go into their own database, do view-agents, and paste the agent into their own databases.

-- unless you write the agent in such a way that they can call the agent from within their own databases, then you'd need to give them a simple bit oc code that would connect to and run the agent -- but unless you're really carefull with how you code things, its not going to run on THEIR data, it will run on yours.

It CAN be done, but it doesn't sound like its what you're planning.

An alternate way would be to add the agent to the mail5.ntf database, then load hte design task on the server (or wait overnight) and it will roll out to each database.

andrew,

by the way, then what does "shared" means?

andy
A "private" agent is accessible only to you, and is not available to be run by any other workstation or by multiple users of the database.   A "shared" agent can be accessed by anyone with access to the database, and can be used as part of the function of that database because it is part of the overall design that all users see.
