Looking at the demo code on the link you provided (which opens a google page in a chromeless window), we find the text link source code:

<a href="#" onclick="mywin001=openIT('http://www.google.com',600,400,null,null,'mywin001',5,true,true,true);return false">
Open Google.com</a>

the onclick is the important item here, we can simply move it to an image in order for it to react:

<img src=blah.gif onclick="mywin001=openIT('http://www.google.com',600,400,null,null,'mywin001',5,true,true,true);return false">

Alternatively, as the image doesn't show a hand icon (but just the pointer icon), we can embed the image into an href, like such:

<a href="#" onclick="mywin001=openIT('http://www.google.com',600,400,null,null,'mywin001',5,true,true,true);return false">

  <img src=blah.gif>
</a>

Hope this helps,

Me
