Mainframe to NT file transfer

Hi Guys,

Can someone provide me with answers to these questions.....

a)What are the different ways to have remote mainframe connectivity and which is most suitable and preferred ?
b)What are the tools required for transfer of files between Mainframe to NT & vice versa? (EDI files to be transferred)
c)Is there some sort of scheduler for all such file transfers?
d)2-3 lines about terminal emulator / work bench etc.
This is urgent please reply as soon as possible.

a) depends on the mainframe and how remote you want it.. A hummingboard 3270 emulator running in terminal server works..

b) You need something like FTP or XCOM capabilities on the mainframe.

c) You can schedule by using mainframe jobs..

I think the proper solution in you case migh be Connect:Direct though it might eb a tad bit expensive. Yes you can schedure the files transfers and they can be initiated on either side.
