Epson status monitor 3 shows incorrect ink level (C41SX)

I have a new Epson Stylus C41SX. When I first installed the black ink catridges, the ink indicator of Epson Status Monitor 3 is full (it's normal). For some reason I unplug the black ink catridges and re-insert it back. Immediately, the ink indicator shows that there is only half of the ink left. Certainly it's incorrect.

How to correct this problem? Thanks and hope to hear from you ASAP.

Sorry for the late reply. After analysing, I found that the C41SX/UX catridges are designed in "cheap" way. The chip actually didn't integrated with the ink itself. It's just a plain chip sticked outside. Epson software will then perform some estimation and write some data into the chip.

Certainly in this way, the data is not as accurate as possible. Normally there will still be some ink left when the software indicates that the catridge is empty. There is a "chip resetter" device out there but hard to get one in the market.

Also, it's not recommended to unplug the catridges before they are empty. Doing so will hurt the chip and show incorrect ink level.

Anyway, this is a budget printer and compare to the price, the features are okay.
