Hello. I placed an agent that I wrote on a server. This agent have to send a message to the whole users each week. My problem is, the user who receives the message thiks that it's me who sent it because that the "From" field is: my name instead of the server name. Could somebody explain me why ? Thanks

The signer of the Agent is assumed as the sender.
This cannot be changed (except with not recommendable tricks)

But there is a special item for these purposes. You are still the sender, but the receiver does see the main person for which behalf you are sending the mail.

The name of this email item is: Principal

So all you need is to set this item appropriate to a valid email address. That could be a mailin database.

 doc.Principal = "Mailin Database Name@NotesDomain"

It is normal that this will not work at first try.

So please check this and tell us the results.

So long,
Zvonko

Ok, but the From field remains unchanged, I mean, in the first view of my mailbox, I see that it's the server which sent me the message but when I open the message, I see the From field with my name as value.
I'm the signer but the agent is executed on the server so the From-field value must be its name...
that's only true for @command agents. in lotus script it is as zvonko wrote the signer of the agent.

use the principal & replyto fields....you really cannot change the from field

Thank you lidouka for the points :-)

But please give in the future the grading B only if you are disappointed.
I know that B is labeled as Good, but this is no good.
Regular grading is an A.

See you next time,
Zvonko

Thank you for support Martijn :-)

My dear Zvo-Bro !  I am so sorry to see you like this with lots of "B" !

Those are all newbies and have to learn it first :-)

I am pretty sure lidouka will offer me 500 points and an A+ for his database launch properties question ;-)
