Internet problems.................

My internet acts strangely. I have a cable modem, and I have 2 pcs connected on a router with the cable modem. Every day, I need to unplug and replug the cable modem about 10 times. Thats because the internet works at the beginning, after about an hour slows down, and then after an hour or so, it doesn't work. I unplug the cable modem and replug it, and sometimes the internet begins working. Other times I need to unplug and replug it about 4 consecutive times and still not working. Then the 5th might work. In other words there isn't one and only one solution, its temperamental. Does any of you guys have any idea about this?

ok, you guys thanks, I called the cable modem and said that their company doesn't support routers, and thats why, it stops every two or so hours. If I want maximum internet connection I have to have only on one computer.
that's bull, the router should have nothing to do with the modem. If you had to reset the router 10 times a day, that would be one thing, but since you are having to reset the modem, this is different. I would run soame tests with just the one machine connected to the modem, and if it still needs to be reset, then call them back and don't mention the router
Again I agree with Steven,

They say they don't support routers as in they won't help you configure your LAN. Don't mention the router. If you want, try setting it up without the router and give it a couple days to see if the problem persists. It probably will since you mentioned reseting the modem fixed the issue temporarily and I don't believe it's the router.

John

P.S.I have a Linksys Router connecting 3 computers to the internet through a TOSHIBA PCX1100U Cable Modem.  They want you to pay extra for each computer probably.
