Dear Notes Experts,
I have created a hotspots (link to a website) in mail. I want when the receiver (using Notes, too) clicks on that link, the website will be opened in Internet Explorer, not in Notes Browser (though in the File\Preferences\Location Preferences\Internet Browser is set to "Notes with Internet Explorer")
Please help me. Thanks.

EXPERT OFFICE® is a registered trademark of EXPERTS EXCHANGE®
it is set on the user's location document on a per workstation basis.

You could, in versions up to 5.x write code to modify this setting and send it to users in a mail message as a button to press, or just make users do the change.

In version 6.0 you can create a "policy" that would force this configuration to the client side.

If you really don't want to change the workstations' "Notes with Internet Explorer" setting, you could try creating a button with the following code and mailing that around instead of a URL link:

@Command([Execute]; "%ProgramFiles%\\Internet Explorer\Iexplore.exe http://www.mysite.com/mypage.html")

I haven't tested this myself, so I can't guarantee that it will work, but you can give it a try if you're feeling adventurous.

Regards,

Scott

Oops, make that:

@Command([Execute]; "%ProgramFiles%\\Internet Explorer\\Iexplore.exe http://www.mysite.com/mypage.html")

(forgot one double backslash).

Scott
