Cannot see tables when using MyODBC

I've got a MySQL database set up and registered using a DSN with a MyODBC driver.  When I try to create a new report (using crystal reports 30 day evaluation) and make a new connection to my database (selecting ODBC(RDO)), I can see the actual database, but have '...no items found' under it.  Why can't I see my tables?

Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong?

Thanks,

Can't say with certainty, but it sounds like you don't have any read permissions on the tables.

Hi.

Could you please check which objects are available for reporting? In CR menu file/options, Database tab, Show group.

Good Luck.

On the Database tab (File/options/Database tab) I have the following options ticked:
Show: Tables, Views, Stored Procedures
List Tables and Fields by: Name
Advanced Options: Use indexes..., Database server is..., Select distinct data..., Verify on..., Verify when Database driver upgraded

Does this sound right?

Thanks,

As I recall from a previous EE question and answer, the evaluation copy is limited in what it can do and some of the limitations are related to database access.  The RDO capability may be turned off.

Well, I've been in touch with the support people at crystal decisions, and have been told that connecting to a MySQL database from Crystal Reports 9 is a known issue, and they cannot tell me when/if it will be solved.  There are ways to work around this using RDC with VB and .ttx files - bit messier but still possible.

Happy Crystalling!
