I have a question, I have a Sony Vaio computer with Win XP home on it.  It has a 80 gig HD.

I tried to dual boot XP home and Red Hat 8.0 on it.  I partitioned the hard drive so that I have xp on another partition.  Now I installed RH 8.0 and it boots up fine.  But when I try to boot up XP home I can't boot it up because it says that autochk is missing and just contiues to reboot the system and take me back to the Grub boot load screen showing XP or Linux OS choices to boot up.  I can boot linux but not XP.

The file I guess autochk is missing.  My question is how can I go about fixing this problem without have to wipe out everything and losing all my info etc..Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance.

Download the a new version of the file autochk from .....

Then replace it on your pc through red hat into the partition of the computers hard drive where you have xp located

Check to see if your XP thinks it's on the C drive or the D drive. Also, make sure that's where it is trying to read autochk from. If this is to no avail, try configuring the XP drive first, then Red Hat. Other than this, I don't know, as I have no experience with Red Hat.
