Java is soooo slow

Every time i open a website that calls a java application, it takes forever (exactly 45 seconds) to load.

My computer did not used to do this and i didn't change anything. I swear! No new programs or anything!

I have updated java and I did it by uninstalling and reinstalling the latest from Sun.

My computer is pentium 1.5, 512 megs ram, 60 gb hd, and i have a fast cable connection.

This is really frustrating and annoying and i don't know how to trouble shoot it. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Betsy

What javaapplication are you running? Perhaps the server it's slow? At your configuration it should fly :).

seems like a virus or a worm in your system.... do you have any anti-virus installed / tried cleaning your system?
it seems possible, but it might not be the problem... good luck... =)

--java v1.4.1_01

--It happens any & every time i go to a page that uses java, such as a stock market charting page, etc. I avoid these pages when possible now.

--I use AVG and update it regularly. I'm certain i have no virus. I use netscape almost exclusively and I'm a fanatic about not opening attachments.

thanks for the comments, all. sorry, nothing useful yet.

I posted it in the clean-up section.  According to the info the clean-up guidelines it should take them a week or so to finalize the clean-up
