The card you have is the SANDISK 256MB FlashATA PC Card.  The link to the product page is :

http://www.sandisk.com/oem/pccard-specs.htm

What operating system are you using?  From what I have researched online, FlashATA devices do not need any drivers for it to function... however I could be wrong.  What exactly happens when you plug the card into your laptop?

Dear LimeSMJ,

Thank you very much for your quick reply.

I am using windows 2000 Professional in my Laptop.  When i plug the card in to the laptop it is not at all detecting.(Remember 2000 is an plug and play operating system). So u mean to say that no  such driver is needed for this card right?

Can I configure this particular card as a drive like c,d,e drive?

Thanks in advance
Shibu.

From what I read online, it shouldn't need a device as the card would be detected as a removable storage device.  The driver should be loaded from Windows 2000 since it should follow the ATA specifications (meaning Win 2000 should load the standard hard drive drivers for it).

Hm.. try plugging in the card and looking in your Devices listing to see if there are any yellow exclamation (!) points on any devices.  Also check to see if there is any mention of the SanDisk card in the listing.

Also check to see if the drive needs a drive letter... goto Computer Management in the Administrator Tools menu.  Then choose Disk Manager and see if the card is listed there.

It is weird however that Windows 2000 doesn't even beep or anything when the card is inserted or removed.  What is the make and model of your laptop?
