Suse system keeps booting Read Only
Posted on 2003-02-19
I have a suse 8.0 (2.4.14) system that has been working fine until reboot last night. Now the boot drive keeps going read only on boot and I cannot get it back to a normal boot.
I can log in as root, mount the drive and work in the shell. A check on the drive shows no errors so I think something is flagged to protect it. It is a resierFS and has worked great for almost a year now. It is serving as a PDC for a small LAN of 11 XP boxes.
The services that normally load on boot give the error of the fs being ro.
All partitions are on a 3.2 GB HDA2 drive. Is there any ideas to get this booting normal again?
Where is a good place to look for a file that would force the FS to be read only on boot.
