I have copied an .fla file from my Mac to take wih me to work and keep working on a PC there but whenever I attempt to open the file in the PC at work it says it is an "Unexpected file format",, I have taken my PC .fla files and transfered them and even emailed them to myself before and opened them on my Mac and it works fine but I can't seem to do it the other way around for some reason,, Any help or points to any third party apps to help with this is appreciated,,
Thanking you in advance,,

the way mac & pc store files differently ...

mac does it with 2 stream -  the data fork & the resource fork. ... pc only 1 single file. that's why pc -> mac ok, mac - > pc .. no good.

now, the easiest way is to ZIP it before u copy or send email to ur office pc and it will work fine :)

we have the same problem here all the time, mac users are designer and pc users are programmers and that's how we get around it.

cheers

let me start by saying that i'm not a Mac guru but i had the exact same problem. I've just renamed de file from "something" to "something.fla" and it worked fine.

The file i had was created on Flash 5 (Mac) and opened in Flash Mx (Pc).

Hope it helps

Great deal. zipping it worked great,, Also the second option worked as well but zipping it works even better cause I can then transfer more files per thumb drive,, thanks
