here is part of the code that enables TEdit component to alignt its text...

procedure THiddenValueEdit.CreateParams(var params:TCreateParams);
   Alignments : array[TAlignment] of Longint = (ES_LEFT, ES_RIGHT, ES_CENTER);
   inherited CreateParams(Params);
   Params.Style := Params.Style or Alignments[F_Alignment] or ES_MULTILINE;

after trying this out, i later found out that my edit component has indeed turning into a multi line edit.  how do i correct this? can i simply remove the 'ES_MULTILINE' to turn my component into a single line component again?
