If a user sends to a server distribution list, and they are themselves IN that DL, is there any way to prevent them from receiving their own email? (Short of creating a client rule telling outlook to junk messages from themselves)...

Setup:

Outlook 2000
Exchange 5.5 (latest SP)

Many Thanks,
Matt

Unfortunetly you cannot do this, have to go with Rule Wizard in Outlook.

Thanks for that - it's what I thought, but the user swears blind that in her last organization this wasn't the case, and that they were using Outlook. But if I don't hear anything back I'll go with that answer! Thanks again.

If she can prove it to you you gotta tell me how to do it. It's definitely a no-no.

The only thing I can think of is this person must've set a DL up in Microsoft Outlook itself (the client) and not include themselfs in it. So when this users sends e-mail to the DL then she would use the DL created on her client (which she is not included) and all other users that also send e-mail to this DL use the standard DL in the Global Address List.

Thanks... my guess is her last IT department set up a client side rule without her knowing what was done. I'll do the same :-)
