Please explain the difference between these two servlet URLs http://localhost:7001/Runner and www.localhost:7001/Runner

http://localhost:7001/Runner makes a request to 127.0.0.1 port 7001

www.localhost:7001/Runner tries to resolve www.localhost into an ip address and probably fails as www.localhost is not a valid domain name.
