Setup A Members Only Section On Our Web Page - Password Protection

We have a website designed using a software package called Coolpage. They do not offer the ability to have a password protected members only area. The company hosting our Webpage is (Toast.net) they offer a counter and a survey form with instructions on how to modify the Html script, paste it to our webpage and publish, works fine.

I guess you can tell from this we don,t know much about writing our own code or modifying code. We are satisfied with the webpage, easy to develop and maintain but are stuck with setting up a password protected area for our members.

Any ideas?

Well I checked your host and if your using the basic package you don't have alot of options.  First thing I would suggest is take the hit and change hosting companies.  Personally I use www.clcikhost.net . Been using them for a year no problem.  Then there are a ton of scripts out there for what you need.

For php
http://www.phpsecurepages.com/
http://www.locked-area.com/html/

Perl
http://www.cgi-factory.com/password/index.shtml
http://tectonicdesigns.com/freecgi/pindex.cgi?mode=w

Good luck
