What is MTU ?
How can I change MTU on CisCo router 2600 ?
And if I changes the mtu value, what will be impacted ?

Thanks in advance.

MTU=Maximum Transmission Unit = max packet size. Default is 1500

Change it at the interface:
interface serial 0/0
 mtu 1200

Lots of things can/will be affected - some for the better, some worse. Why do you want to change it?

Yes, Irmoore. I tried to change it from 1500 to 1200, and then I was disconnected from the router. Why ?

How were you connected? Telnet? Yes, I said that there are repurcussions to doing this and you have to know why you want to do it, and what will be affected.
