Windows File Sharing Ports

Anyone know which ports are used by Windows for file sharing?  I am trying to connect to my home machine from work and have to go through a firewall, so must open the correct port(s).  For example, I would like to be able to connect to \\maymachine\c$ from work.

Also, anyone know where I can find a listing of all the reserved ports used by Windows.

The port numbers depend on the version of windows you are using. You will need to enable the following ports for all versions of windows:

137 - (UDP) NetBios name service
138 - (UDP) NetBios datagram
139 - (TCP) Netbios port for windows file and printer sharing

In windows 2000 a new transport was added over port 445 so you will have to enabl eport 445 as well as the others above.

I don't know of a good list of ports specifically for windows only but a general list of all ports can be found at http://www.iana.org/assignments/port-numbers

Hope this helps
