send and receive emails through application

hi,

can anyone please tell me how can  i send and receive emails from within a vb application. does anyone know some free component that can be used for this purpose?

In case you want to send mails through MAPI then use two ActiveX control provided by VB named MAPISession and MAPIMessage. See the following links about these controls:

However, I would still suggest you to use the vbSendmail component at the link I mentioned above. Not only me but most of the experts at this firum will vouch for that component.
