Hi,

I have a view named 'Branches'.
The columns that i have are : BranchName, Type, Description, Tag No and Serial No.

The BranchName column has : BranchA, BranchB, BranchC,..... which is categorized

    BranchA
                Xxxxx  ……..
                 yyyyyy  ………

    BranchB
               aaaaaa …………
               bbbbbbb ………….

    BranchC
                eeeeee …………
                ... and so on

The problem is i want a view wherein it display's only the records of BranchA when i preview it in Notes Client(5.0.11)other should not be shown.

Should i have to go for a new view? How do i do it?

You need to change the view selection formula. You can either modify this view's selection formula, or create a copy of the view and modify the new view's selection formula. You need to add this condition to the current selection formula:

& BranchName = "BranchA"

so it would end up being something like this:

[current selection formula] & BranchName = "BranchA"

Already there is a formula for 'View Selecton' it is :
SELECT Form = "Equipment Profile"

And the BranchA column has a programmtic use name as : $11 and the column title is 'BranchName'which is categorized.

As u said i added the command like this:
SELECT Form = "Equipment Profile" & BranchName = "BranchA"

when i preview the view in Lotus Client(5.0.11) its blank.

Am i going wrong any where?

Are these branch documents response documents? Try deselecting the view option "Show response documents in a hierarchy".

Also, are you sure you have the correct case, i.e. BranchName = "BRANCHA" is not the same as BranchName = "brancha".

Hi

I got it working, i put the following formula in the 'Veiw Selection' :

SELECT Form = "Form Name" & BranchName="BranchA" and removed the 'categorized' option for the first column and gave sort by ascending.

Now i am able to display the branch i want.

Thank you for your help and suggestions.
