Hello!   I have Olympus digital camera. The "working area" is Camedia 2.1. I can't find any way to email
pictures so I wrote to Olympus and asked how to do it.  The Olympus person said that Camedia 2.5 has a way
to email pictures. He said he would send it to me. He did this, but in *10* parts. He said I could use
setup by clicking on #l, however, that only allows me to "setup" #l. I now have talked by email and by
telephone to Olympus to see how I can put these all together in a single file so they'll be useable. They
both gave me some suggestions that didn't work and then stopped responding. Can anyone tell me
how to put these 10 listed parts of Camedia 2.5  in program files into a single program file? I hope this is clear to
you. It is driving me nuts. I have tried everything I can think of and now have these files all over the
place, including "documents". Save me?  Thank you for any help you can give me.

first put them all in one directory
they have to be in the same directory to setup fully
then double click on the setup #1 file

I'm sorry to be so dumb Steven but I'm not sure what you mean by "directory". I don't
know where to find it. Also, do you mean if I double click on the setup #1 file all 10
of them will combine to make a "program"? Duh!        mythyme

find each one, in windows exporer, click once (left) to highlight it, then right click it, hold down the mouse button, and drag it to the folder you want all of them to be in, let go of the mouse button, and you should get a menu, choose copy here
(you will have to do this one at a time)

OK, first to make the directory
go to start -->programs and click on msdos prompt
then from the prompt type
mkdir c:\install (hit enter)
we will take this one at a time
after doing this let me know

Steven, I have fooled around so much before I contacted EE that I have Camedia files everywhere!  I just noticed, however, that they are all under C:\program files\camedia 2.5.
Is that any good?      mythyme

I hope I did this right. I opened the C:\program files\camedia 2.5 and double clicked on Part #l.
It brought up a box that had an install button. I clicked onthat and it installed. Did I do it wrong
since it said "install" rather than "setup"?

Now what do I do Steven? I was hoping I could open start/program files and there would be
a file that said Camedia 2.5. Is there a way to do this?     mythyme

Steven, there is no Camedia 2.5 in programs. Tthe only thing I can find is "setupdir" in my documents, but that one only gives me
a list of 5 and when I click them they send up the box that looks just like the original that
put them on the computer in the first place. A sign says that there "whatever" already
exists. I must have done something wrong from the beginning. The only way I can get all
10 together is with C:\program files\camedia 2.5. I see nothing to install it. Should I start from
scratch, i.e. from the original emails and delete all the rest? Of course, I'd still need your
guidance. :o(        mythyme

you need all the attached files that came with the email, and they need to be in the same directory, and then you need to double click on the one setup file, and it should tell you it is installing, let it install

I give up Steven. I just don't understand. It seems like when you tell me to do something the
words that are supposed to be there aren't. It isn't that important and I don't want you to
spend any more time on it. Nice working with you again, even though it is a bummer. Of
course, I'll be giving you the points.     Cheers!     mythyme

do you have the emails that they sent you, and are there files attached?

Yes, and says" your files are attached and ready to send with this message". Then
has the blue "camedia 2.5 part01exe. The other side of the box the only thing other than that that it says is Base 64.

ok, doble click on all the attached files, and it should ask if you want to open them or save them to disk, choose save to disk, and (if you followed the steps above to make c:\install) save them all to c:\install
do this for each email that you got from them (should be 10, i'm guessing

Aargh!  When I double click on an attached file the box says only "save" and "cancel",
not "open" or "save to disk". In the box the "save as type" is  (all files **). What next?

click save, and another box should open
at the top of that box is where you can choose to save the file
it should be in the same bos as
In the box the "save as type" is  (all files **).
look at the top, and there is an arrow, click on that arrow, and you should see where to save them to

Okay Steven - I double clicked on Part 01/then clicked on top arrow and it said
save in C:\ file. The save as type is "all files". There is no "save to disk", only save.
Is that okay? If so, I will click "open" and do the rest of them.

Save it in c:\install
I had you create that directory in a step above
save all of them to c:\install
the save type is good, repeate that process for all the emails

Good, now that they are all in the same directory, find it in windows explorer, and double click on the first setup file, say yes to all prompts

Hi Steven - Okay, I went to C:\install and found the list of parts 1-10. The first item on the
page was "set up dir"and when I clicked on that it only said the following: setup bmp, 0007, 0009, 000a, 00010, 0010, 0404, 040C.  When I clicked on setup.bmp I got this:" Win RAR self-extracting archive extracting data 2". Below that was: Failed in Data 2.cab. I then clicked "setup.bmp"
the page said "found parts   set-up dir     data 1.cab,  but when I clicked then that it said
data 1.cab  winzip file  and a pop-up said " winzip file (at top)  Trial ran out  data 1 hdr". When
I clicked on any of the 10 parts it always brought up the "paint" program within Camedia.
(setup dir and set up bmp may be in reverse order here). Anyway, what's this all
about? What do I do now? Let me know if you want to quit this operation please.   mythyme

Steven, all I kept getting in install.exe is that it can't find data 2.cab. I'm wondering
if the guys at Camedia either didn't send me the part, or if it's impossible to
install data 2.cab without a disk. It is asking for a data 2.cab disk and I don't have
one. I don't expect you to continue this thing now Steven. I'm just going to have to
give up.        mythyme
