Dynamic Images

I am creating a weather script that parses data from another website and displays it in the format that I want. The problem is I want to retrieve the picture that represents the weather from their site usually just a JPG and I want to insert this image into a dynamic image of of the weather conditions I have created the dynamic layout but I need to be able to insert another picture into this dynamic image. If anyone can help that would be most appreciated. If you want to see what I have done so far visit www.sharppointsoftware.com/weatherimage.php

Thanks!!

All I see is "No Zipcode Entered!" when I go to your site...  You'll need to use the graphics package GD if it is available on your installation of PHP or ImageMagic or something else if it is not to combine the two images.

Here is another Question that answers this nicely:
http://www.experts-exchange.com/Web/Web_Languages/PHP/Q_10710381.html

and if you need to go the ImageMagick route, this question has some insight, but not a lot of other information, on using it:

http://www.experts-exchange.com/Web/Web_Languages/PHP/Q_20224267.html

of course you first have to install it...

I am sorry! I have GD and have started creating the image I didn't complete the URL it is this:

www.sharppointsoftware.com/weatherimage.php?zipcode=55901

And basically I can create an image using rectangles, text, circles, etc, what I wanna do though is add another image to this image I am creating, to see what I made using just HTML check out this site

www.diversedesigns.biz

This is the one I created using tables etc, I want to convert this to just a dynamic image, but I need to be able to insert the picture that is shown there into the dynamic image.

Thank you for your response...

Thank you Big_Red_Dog I think you have answered my question, but I need to play with it a bit and make sure this is what I need, I see how to get the image but do you know how to place the image INTO the existing image?

Thanks again!

You hit the nail on the head and I found the information I wanted... here is the code for anyone else who needs this information

$id = ImageCreateFromGif("http://a799.ms.akamai.net/3/799/388/f01c47511e5c7e/www.msnbc.com/m/wea/i/36/33.gif");

          imagecopymerge ($im, $id, 25, 50, 0, 0, 35, 35, 100);

$im was the original image I created and $id was the new image I captured.

Thanks again Red_Dog I guess I just wasn't looking for the right thing!

Now that I've seen what you are doing, perhaps using overlays is better.  See this site: http://www.javascriptkit.com/javatutors/dynlay/

Our messages crossed paths, I think if you are happy with the GD solution, go with it!
