Hi, I don't have xp, however, maybe that is not sufficient.
I think you need what is called a video-capture card, this will provide the plugin for the cable to run to your tv.
I play avi's and dvd from my pc through to my vcr via my gforce mx440 video card, are you trying to play dvd through to your tv? If so then thats the way to go I hope lol. regards Merete.

my this is getting old, I now have xp and know even more about this subject, Kishorek you will need a video card with tv out, suitable cables for the audio out and video that will attach to your tv or vcr if it has the suitable plugins from your tower,, and your tv will have to go to a nuteral channel, my video card is a mx440 with nvideo, which is nview, that allows me to clone my desktop or use an extra monitor and simply drag my avi or movie picture onto the tv, any windows platform can have a video card installed with tv out, but without that you won't be seeing any plugs in the back of the tower. If you choose to get a video card with tv out make sure you follow the install instructions and then you will have to plug your monitor into that.Regards Merete
