Space between JPanel and JLabel

How can I make a space between JPanel and the J-components that I place in it.

And how can I also make spaces between them??

Mostly I get the components against each other.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What layout are you  using?  Check out BoxLayout, I think they have seperators.  This is a swing layout.

If you use BorderLayout, then you can use BorderLayout.setHgap() and BorderLayout.setVgap() to set the gaps between the components.
