Frontpage 2002 server error while saving

This is probably the strangest question or problem anyone will ever read. I worked with the microsoft front page special technician for 2 months by email and phone and could not solve this. While saving images/pages with our company website, the folder My Webs has a limit to the total that can be added. It is a very large website with some 22,000 images. Once you reach a certian number of images(23,000 something) it gives a "server error cannot rename" whatever the image or page name is. So, I simply go to My Webs, delete some old images not in use and then try to save again. As long as I delete enough to get under the magical number it will then save as normal. Problem is I'm out of old images not in use to delete and need to keep adding images. Any information someone may have that would help would be GREATLY appreciated since Microsoft is out of ideas.

Well I found something that has to do with FP 2000, but nothing yet for FP 2002:

Not too sure if it will help but it might be able to help point you in the right direction.

Corey,
Thank you for the comments. That is the closest answer I have seen to the problem. I actually had seen these tech notes previously but was alittle intimated to try something like this. Noone, at microsoft had ever seen a website this big developed with frontpage, so much of their assitance was without having a case precedence. The My Webs folder is 531 MB. As mentioned before as long as the folder stays under a certain number of objects I can save anything. Once it exceeds the 23,000 objects(images) something it gives a server error. I can go in to My Webs and delete the exact number of items over and it will save. But, cannot add anymore till I delete the same number from the My Webs. It is the strangest problem they had ever seen and could not resolve this after 2 months of working on it with the site downloaded on their software. I even attempted to FTP the site into Dreamweaver MX to get away from this problem but, the import would always timeout/freeze up due to the large size. It's at a critical point for our company site now because we have many new products to add but being at the My Web limit with no more images to delete, it's at a stand still. Again, thank you for your assistance and respondance. www.millerhouseofsports.com

No worries.  I kept searching everything.  One thing I am curious about - is the 23,000 objects.  Are they all your objects or is that also counting the files that front page creates?

Have you also tried to copy the files directly into your local folder & then opening up front page?  Not too sure if that would work or possibly overload FP.  Or maybe how about creating sub-webs?  That way - front page is only dealing with one particular web.  Sub-webs might be your best bet.

Corey
Thank you very much for the response. I not sure if the number of objects is including company product images alone or also the files that FP creates. My quess is that it includes all since all show up in My Webs folder. Also, Microsoft informed me that they had never seen a site with 55,000 hyperlinks. They too, as you have suggested, said to create subwebs to possible avoid this problem. Your thinking of copying the images directly into the folder, then trying to save it,is something we did try and still had a problem saving. Believe me, microsoft had their best "special problems" expert on this issue and he consulted with others and could never resolve the issue. Although, they did try hard. Other than your suggestion of subwebs, which is structual the best thing to do, but would be a huge undertaking with a website this large, I do not know what other options we have. It's very strange how the My Webs folder has a limit that it can store objects. If you, go over that number you get the server error msg. If, you stay under that number it works great. Microsoft also informed me that FP has no limit on size nor does folders. Well, it does in this case. Again, I really thank you for taking the time to assist us with this problem. We are at the end of knowing what to do with the company site. Even, getting it into another developing software like DW has not worked.
