Internet Usage Tracking?

What is the best way to track the web sites that the clients are going to in a 2k server environment.  Is it possible to view their cookies in roaming profiles?  If so, for some reason, logged on as administrator, I cannot view the roaming profiles from the server. I can view them form the client computers.  Any way to solve this.

Thanks

Depending on your firewall, there are several possibilities. I don't think scouring through cookies is in any way productive, nor will it give you the information you're looking for.

Take a look at a product like Websense:

or N2H2:

Thanks for the response but my boss will not buy software unless there is a problem and cookies is the only way that I can think of tracking without making a purchase.

Since you have linksys, enable logging on the router, point it to your PC and download the logviewer from Linksys..http://kb.linksys.com/cgi-bin/om_isapi.dll?clientID=1026632&QuestionText=log%20reader&SelectName1=&advquery=%5bs%5d%5bRank%2c%2050%3a%5bSum%3a%20log%20reader%5d%5bMerge%3a%20%5bThesaurus%3a%20log%20reader%5d%5d%5d&infobase=linksysrev.nfo&record={85}&softpage=IKW_ENU_JDocView
That will pretty much show you where everyone is going, and a whole lot easier than digging through the cookies.

Good idea and that might work but the logview program will not launch. I also need to know what users are going to which places.

The logs will tell you that if you can get it to work.

www.linklogger.com will do a better job than the linksys tool. If it isnt free I am pretty sure there is a trial which should be enough to get the info you need.
