Selection / filter of names in Address Book

Dear Friends,
Is it possible to filter the names of the public Address Book?

1) We want to filter the application Groups from the Address Book.
2) or we want to select only the mailing addresses (not application roles).

Many thanks for your help

You could make a copy of the Groups view in the Address Book. You could then modify the selection formula of the new copy of the view to select only those groups you are interested in seeing. If this does not help, please let us know more details of exactly what you are trying to do. Thanks.

Scott

Hi Scottrma,
Thank you for your answer.
Actually, I am not the LN Administrator.
We have many LN applications with 'Access control' granted to groups.
We would like to eliminate this groups from our mailing list of people.
Example:
1-for application x1 we have group x1readgroup, x1admingroup, etc
2-we want to filter 'x1readgroup, x1admingroup, etc' when  users press the 'Address' button to send an e-mail.

Could you tell me the name of this view or views we need to modify?

Oh, I think I see what your asking now. You just have to change the group type from "Multi-purpose" or "Mail Only" to "ACL Only". This will make Lotus only use the group for ACL purposes and the group will not show up in Mail Address dialogs or be usable to send mails to.

If you have many groups, you can create a fairly simple agent to change the group type on multiple groups at one time. Let me know if you need further help with this.

Scott

Dear Scott,

That's wonderful! Great solution! It is so obvious that I did not see it. Many thanks!

I wish I could increase the points, but I do not have more points.

Have a very nice day!
