Yikes, why would you want to? Let QT take care of the files. It'll do a much better job than WMP could ever do.

I prefer WMP though. Do you have the solution to this issue?
Well, ok. QT is still going to handle more, and do a better job than WMP but if you REALLY want to do it, change the MIME settings in your browser preferences window. Might be called "helper applications". You should examine your current settings to determine the mime types you want to associate with WMP.

I can't seems to find the browser preferences in IE 6, let me know if you are able to do it.
Im not using IE, but all browsers have Preferences panels. Usually Edit>Preferences. In there youll see a listing for helper applications or the like. Cant miss it.

Under Edit>Preferences, and the Tools->Internet Options, I can't find the preferences panels either, if you can find a PC with IE6, let me know where is this obscure option set...welcome any IE 6 browser user who may like to help me out? TIA weed and others.
As I don't have QT, thankfully, I can't test the solution, but I used to have the same problem. The problem does not lie in explorer using QT as the default, but windows having QT as the default video viewer. The way I got rid of it was just to install WMP, then it'll ask you if you wanna use it as your default viewer. There is another option of doing it through the control panel, but I can't remember how.
If you did somehow manage to change it only on explorer, go to tools->internet options->programs->reset web settings.

I used the Advanced Uninstaller Pro 2003 v.5.3 located at http://www.devstar-soft.com/soft/uninstaller/Advanced_Uninstaller5.exe
It was able to unplug the QT plugin in the IE browser and now my WMP works!
Anyone know how to close a no response thread in EE? I can't seems to find the "delete" button.
