A friend of mine asked me to help him out setting up Windows 2000 on his home PC.  He wanted individual user accounts for each family member, so that when they logged in and started outlook they were brought to their individual ISP mailboxes.  That’s all sorted.  What I want to know is, is the Windows 2000 backup utility capable of saving all these settings?  And if so how do I go about doing it?  I want to be able to take a “snapshot” of the machine the way it is at the moment, and be able to restored it in the future if necessary.

Just ensure that when you do the backup, check to backup the system state data also.  Then you will have all your files and the registry as well.
