At the moment we import Reuters Data into Excel using Balista,Fisxserve and ITNTDDE server ... the syntax used for bringing it into excel for example "=ITNT|REUTER!'SMBX,ROW64_3'".

I would like to bring this into a VB app (preferably without using excel". Is anyone familiar with this setup ?

Any Idea's Please ?

Haven't worked with DDE Servers much but it should go something like this:

Create a new "Standard exe" vb project.
Add a textbox control and a command button to the form.

Add this code to the form:
Private Sub Command1_Click()
    Text1.LinkMode = 1
End Sub

Private Sub Form_Load()
    Text1.LinkItem = Text1
    Text1.LinkMode = 0
    'Your linktopic will probably be ITNT|REUTER
    Text1.LinkTopic = "DDESERVER|SOURCEDATA"
End Sub

Run the project and click on the Command1 button. You should see the data from the DDE server being displayed in the text box. Hope this helps. Maybe someone with a little more knowledge on this subject has a better explanation :)
