Isn't there a prerequisites CD that comes with VB.NET that will install anything required prior to VB.NET being installed?

The version I installed pretty much did everything for me.
It had a 1..2..3 step process and I remember one being the update wizard. I really did not need to do much at all.  Did you already install the framwork?

I have 3 install disks that came with it and I tried all three.  They 2nd and 3rd disk as for the first disk and the first disk has the 1.2.3 step process but won't let me go to two without updating the windows component.  It asks for the windows component update disk, but don't have one.

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

Could you try going to windows Update and running that and I also think there is a .Net update also. That might do it.

Be sure that you are logged on with Administrator rights and install the .NET Framework again. Disable any Virus-scanner first. Then Reboot and install VB.NET.
This should work. If not, be sure that your version of the Framework or VB.NET is not a beta.

Good luck
