HELP IBM 365XD laptop BIOS password

Please anyone, I bought a IBM 365xd laptop from a guy at a flea market, it needed a H/D. When I installed it and powered it up, it asked for a password. The Bios is locked and I can't get to them to change the password. I've tried pulling the cmos battery. Pressing all the keys after powering up. All the F buttons after powering up. I've tried to locate the guy for the password , but still no luck.

Any idea's ???

In some instances the password can be kept on another memory chip so that clearing the cmos does not break the security of the password function,

Can you boot from a floppy disk?

If so most bioses can be set to factory defaults using this little utility:

http://natan.zejn.si/rempass.html

This generates a checksum error in the bios and effectively crashes it. When you restart the system it will throw loads of error codes at you and does look quite scary.

Just enter the bios (password prompt will be gone) reset time and date, save and exit, restart - job done!

Try leaving the battery out for 24 hours, this has worked for me in the past.

I've tried all of these , but it is still locked. I kept the cmos battery out for 62 hours and ran the software KillCmos and Rpass3 but it's still locked. Thanks for the responce. Maybe someone will have the answer and save this poor laptop from being smashed to bits when I throw it out the window...hehe
