"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

already asked. Not with standard TP/DOS (of course), but there are solutions. Search in PAQ.
Check out some TWAIN stuff there is some VCL packages for Delphi to connect to TWAIN compatible devices search the internet for it. Also check out and borland and search for TWAIN in these.

Hope you get there. Good luck
You cannot.
There is no such thing as a USB port. USB is a serial bus not a serial line. You address devices on the bus.
USB printers create a virtual port in Windows so you print to a USB printer like to any other.
For DOS there is no USB support at all.
