Supermarket VB+ACESS2K  help

Hi,
I' ve been trying to develop a supermarket app for a local store and have been reading upon and looking at a few apps around(my favorite is QuickSell commerce or 2000) as you will soon learn Iam totally GREEN but a quick learner , now i have the these 2 tables Categories and Products and need help with doing the whole lookup upon scanning an item (barcode or typed )and all that is involved in the procedures, I have accesed the access db through ADO and would like to use ado in its process.
I would appreciate you help or a Sample Supermarket or anything similar to it so i can learn and build from the code itself, please help me im running out of time here.
