As netnightmare said, you need a crossover cable and you have setup you ip have same Subnet mask. E.g. <br />
Computer 1<br />
IP : 192.168.123.1 &nbsp; Subnet :255.255.255.0<br />
Computer 2<br />
IP : 192.168.123.2 &nbsp; SubNet :255.255.255.0<br />
