I have a laptop and was installing windows 95 after a major system failure and reformat. I had to install win 3.11 first (which worked fine) and then win 95 from the floppies. Unfortunately several files on the floppy were not able to be read, and I tried putting them into the instal by hand from another computer, but I constantly get the following error when trying to install/configure ANYTHING:

The OLE32.DLL file is linked to missing export RPCRT4/DLL|_rcpAsyncSendReceive

Is there anything I can do to fix this, or do I have to buy a new computer? (it is a 486, so win 98 is out of the question, and nobody has the disks for 95 any more!)

You have incompatible versions of those dll files.  E-mail a list of those files to ee@jamesn.endjunk.com and I'll get them for you and email them to you, so you can put them on a disk and copy them to your computer.

However, a new computer would be an excellent investment...I don't see how you could stand to use a 486...
