Actually a virus doesn't have depend on any file extenstion. It can piggy back itself to soemthing else hence it can be any type of file.

But mostly keep your eye on .COM;.EXE;.BAT;.CMD;.VBS;.VBE;.JS;.JSE;.WSF;.WSH

hrmm.. i am trying to write a customer service center for my business, and i am trying to setup some kind of virus stopper from attachments.

ok, thank you.
Hmm the best thing you could do is to use a anti virus program that scans emails. I know Norton and McAffee will do this and a firewall called Zone Alarm www.zonelabs.com also will scan incoming email.
